Scattered Strawberry Summer

Just one day to go and I'm off! When I'm back, I have quite a few things to do, I will go to London a couple times for meetings and training, I was asked to take pictures again, possibly all day, not sure, haven't been given much information on it.Also, I was put forward by my manager to get involved in a project which might be quite interesting, not sure yet what exactly it entails. Lots of things happening at work, changes ahead, some positive, some less so, we'll just wait and see how it will affect us.

I bought a tool set, I can't believe how empowered I felt holding a hammer. Now  I wish there was more DIY stuff to do around the house so I could use my new toys, I mean tools.

I can sense the new academic year has started without even looking at the calendar,my town is unusually full with young, seemingly lost people and also all the shouting & singing that wakes me up in the middle of night: it can only mean one thing- freshers week... It's been a a year since I graduated, I could have completed masters degree by now, but it's very expensive way to make oneself over qualified for most jobs in the current job market. The other thing, I am not sure  what subject I would like to study, I'll wait till I establish some sort of direction in my career, now I am focused on getting more work experience and spending money I wouldn't have if I studied.

I know I said it million of times but I need to say it again: I hate autumn/winter (autumn and winter do not differ much here in UK). I despise it. with all my heart. I woke this morning to the sound of rain, it's dark even though it's late morning, it's gloomy and depressing. It seems I missed Indian summer when I was out of the country. 

Last October I was sunbathing and swimming in the sea, this seems to me like a memory I invented.  Luckily, I'm going to Barcelona in a few weeks.


I've started my "research" on Barcelona.

went out for a dinner last night to an Italian restaurant, was hugely disappointed when  most of their supposedly  vegetarian options were actually not vegetarian ( mainly because they use cheese with animal rennet). oh the sad life of vegetarian. That reminds me another thing, when I went home, I was thinking of getting a new wallet for my SO, you should have seen the faces of shop assistants when I asked if they have any valets made of faux leather. Back in my home country they don't understand vegetarianism  as a diet alone, so somebody choosing faux leather not because they can't afford the real thing but because of their ethical principles, is even more alien idea.

The other day  at work I got excited  when I took a call from Michael McIntosh because for a millisecond I thought he's going to say Michael McIntyre. 

I have also had calls from Mr Moriarty, John Watson and I could hardly resist making Sherlock related joke. 


In other news,I bought a new laptop (Lenovo g570; Intel Core i5 2450M 2.5GHz, 6GB RAM, 750GB HDD). I signed for Amazon Prime trial, so I got free next day delivery- amazing as I bought computer 7pm and got it next day around 11am. Thanks Amazon. I will do review for amazon later after I've used it for a considerable amount of time, so far very happy.

Now what do I put as my wallpaper? Among those sample pictures I found  a picture of Seven Sisters, so it's going be my wallpaper for now.

only one day till weekend, which I'm looking forward very much, not only because it'd time off but also ,weather permitting, I'll take some pictures and I'm going to see Frankenstein (finally!!!)

quality of my life could be improved instantly if:

• summer would finally come to England.
• I would fine a nice flat to rent
• panasonic would reduce the price of lumix lenses
• I would see  Cumberbatch in a play. live. yes.

On my 4th day off I went to Brighton by train with my significant other. It reminded me why I hate public transport- screaming and crying children. It makes me so maaaad. I'm astonished that parents never discipline their children and just let them do whatever. I wish supernanny was there to deal with them.

Went to see Avengers the other day, not really impressed, I expected it to be more enjoyable, considering all the positive posts about the film online. The Dictator was so much more fun, I'll buy a DVD when it comes out.

Finished my first week at my new job. So far so good. I am the only foreigner, which I find a bit weird since  I haven't been in situation like that before, at uni and other jobs, at least half of the people were foreigners. Well, now I have chance to improve my English and my accent! :)


It's weekend  and weather is still nice so I went to the beach for a few hours and afterwards we went  to do my BF's uni assignment- to make a video for his song. It was so much fun!


I think I'll do more filming, I rather liked it.

Two miserable months of rain and strong winds and BAM summer is here. I went to the park after work to join my friends to enjoy all the sunshine. Very nice, too bad I can't spend days out... Had two stressful days at my old job, which included calling for an ambulance (he's fine now) and  yesterday I started working at my new job. So many names and faces to learn, it will take a while.

I have to brag: I found out that Olympic torch will pass my house. Yes, I think it's pretty cool :)) Can't wait.

I'm in a good mood today,  two days off  after today, starting a new job next week. I'll get my life back, I will have so much more time and I hope I will use it well rather than spend it browsing reddit. I want to go on day trips, I want to start playing the guitar again, learn to play more songs properly, not half-assed as usually. I want to take more pictures, read all the books that I have on my to read list.

 BF's birthday this week, got him some boring stuff and "adopt a donkey". Since we saw some donkeys in the sanctuary we really came to love them and my BF always says he doesn't need any presents, so this is perfect for him as he's not really getting any, except a picture of the donkey he will adopt. And he'll make one donkey a bit happier. Although I was quite disappointed how little money goes directly to charity (I bought the pack from gift republic). Next time I'll do it directly through charity.

if you wondering why I an not posting nothing here or why I pretty much  abandoned my deviantart account, it's because of my job. I work around 60h a week and I'm really enjoying it(sarcasm alert). And the only reason why everyone here works really long hours is because  management can't be bothered to hire more people and I don't know why, there are plenty of people who would happily work, we get so many CVs every day. oh and yes,  they actually are filming a observational documentary show, the business owner and managers are supposed to get some advice on how tu run the business, but I hardly doubt they're going to act on it,  they're only doing the show for marketing purposes. Although I think it will do more harm than good.

At 6.30 when my alarm goes off, I feel like a zombie, I'm really not a morning person. And every morning as I walk to my work, half asleep, just past  7 o'clock, I wonder why so many people get up so early just for a walk a long the seafront. It's still gonna be there at 10 o'clock, you know.

I got a new rota for next week and it sucks big time. Two  double shifts and only one day off

is it officially spring? I think so! Lying in the park with eyes closed, enjoying the sunshine is better than chocolate. And I really like chocolate.

to add to the list Things that Irritate Me:

• finding a really good song, checking other songs by the same band/artist and finding them totally crap/boring/not my taste
• people who pronounce my name with a silent E
• rude shop assistants! talking to other staff and totally ignoring until they finish their work-unrelated conversation or those who do not greet you and only utter "£10.49". no "thank you", "please". or once shop assistant got involved in argument over nothing with a customer in front of me, shouting at each other and when the customer left, shop assistant was just moaning to all other customers about her.Not very nice, I wanted to write a complaint, but I think the customer who actually left the queue might have done it as he was clearly also irritated by the shop assistant's behaviour and I haven't seen her working there since this  happened. 

I don't need mp3 player, I have a radio in my mind. The  only problem is that I can't change the channel. And also it tends to play one line from a stupid song I've heard somewhere, usually adverts. Sometimes it plays nice songs over and over again but mostly my mind radio goes like this "go compare!... go compare!... or we buy any car dot com :)))) so annoying!
