One of the places we visited during our day in London was a garden in church ruins. It's now probably my favourite place in London. It looked magical. My father said it looked like a set from Lord of the Rings. There is only walls and tower left from what used to be a church. I doubt many tourists know about this place, but it's really more interesting to see than Big Ben.
I would have taken more pictures but there were a few people who, I assume, belong to photography club. I didn't want them in the pictures.
I'll definitely come back there.

Such a lovely spot in London. It feels like a different world when you enter it. There's no rush, it's a nice, quiet spot. You wouldn't believe you're in central London.

I was watching old episode of QI (It stands for Quite Interesting), they were talking about graphology and they confirmed it has zero validity, which did not surprise me.
I found an interesting article on it (link below). Some extracts from it:
I found an interesting article on it (link below). Some extracts from it:
"Of the studies that are published in peer-reviewed journals that use rigorous scientific methodologies, hardly any show an effect. As a result the respectability of graphology within the scientific community has now been all but wiped out.A recent review of the literature on the use of graphology specifically in recruitment was carried out by the British Psychological Society. They found that graphology has exactly the same validity in personnel selection as astrology, i.e. none."
Unfortunately, "It is thought between 5% and 10% of businesses in both the US and the UK use graphology as part of the recruitment process". Even worse, "between 38% and 93% of businesses in France use graphology - probably because one of graphology's pioneers, Jean Hyppolyte Michon, was French. Still, it's difficult to know exactly how many companies still use it because many deny it, despite probably using it". That's just ridiculous :) I wonder what graphologist would say about my handwriting? Clearly, nothing valid! Well, he or she might notice it's terrible but that's obvious to everyone.
And for a nice ending:
" people who believe in graphology should rightly be treated with the same suspicion as those who believe in astrology. Humour them if you wish, educate them if you can, but don't take them seriously."

I'm exhausted.
My parents are leaving tomorrow after staying here for a week. It was a very busy week which involved a lot of walking. I didn't have time for anything. I have 1.5 days to recover before going back to work. yay! Also, I have so many pictures, over thousand I guess;D
Yesterday was also a big day, I've officially graduated! It seemed as such a long day but I enjoyed most of it. I had the pleasure of wearing the academic dress. It looks funny and I didn't feel very comfortable in it :) But yay I gotta my diploma! Now I will start looking for an appropriate job seriously.

Yesterday I found a gem on BBC. oh yes, Sherlock Holmes series. I've never bothered to watch it before, I thought it's same old Sherlock Holmes. But it's not! It's contemporary remake of A.C. Doyle classic, very funny and thrilling. Unlike other adaptations, Sherlock here is ,well, quite young. The character is also very quirky, a bit aspergerish (which reminds me Sheldon from the Big Bang Theory heh) and very, very smart. I do not think they could have found better actor for the role of Sherlock than Benedict Cumberbatch. Martin Freeman plays Dr Watson. Good fit as well. I thoroughly enjoyed the first episode, too bad I have not watched when it first aired- last year!
Some quotes from the first episode:
Sherlock: Brilliant! Yes! Ah, four serial suicides and now a note. Oh, it's Christmas.
Sherlock: Possible suicides. Four of them. There's no point sitting at home when there's finally something fun going on.
Mrs. Hudson: Look at you, all happy. It's not decent.
Sherlock: Who cares about decent? The game, Mrs. Hudson, is on!
Sherlock: Dear God, what is it like in your tiny little brains? It must be so boring
Watson: I just met a friend of yours.
Sherlock: A friend?
Watson: An enemy.
Sherlock: Oh. Which one?
Watson: Your archenemy, according to him. Do people have archenemies?
Sherlock: Did he offer you money to spy on me?
Watson: Yes.
Sherlock: Did you take it?
Watson: No.
Sherlock: Pity, we could have split the fee. Think it through next time.
Sgt. Sally Donovan: Are these human eyes?
Sherlock: Put them back!
Sgt. Sally Donovan: They were in the microwave.
Sherlock: It's an experiment.
Sherlock: Anderson, don't talk out loud. You lower the IQ of the whole street.
Watson: You were going to take that damn pill, weren't you?
Sherlock: Of course I wasn't. Biding my time. Knew you'd turn up.
Watson: No you didn't. That's how you get your kicks, isn't it? You risk your life to prove you're clever.
Sherlock: Why would I do that?
Watson: Because you're an idiot.
Of course, it's not that funny taken out of context, so better watch it if you haven't already

We finally got some sunshine after a very miserable weekend. I felt like Eric from True Blood in the latest episode. Feeling sunshine on your skin is amazing.
We fed the seagull and two pigeons. One pigeon was brave enough to eat from a palm.
Seagulls have such beautiful eyes...
and pigeons have scary ones :)))

I finished the Spanish course I was doing on BBC website and even got a crappy looking certificate. Now I'm doing German. I studied it for two years at high school but I forgot most of it because I did not have a chance to use it. Ever. I got a course book with audio from the local library, did the first unit and it seems to be pretty good. I'll try to advance my Spanish as well, but haven't find a good book or cheap courses yet. I will try to watch Argentinian soap opera ( they are quite entertaining I realise there is a different between the "Madrid Spanish" and Spanish spoken in Latin America, but still.
I had this website bookmarked ages ago Oxford School of Photography and now I rediscovered it, it's awesome blog on photography, loads of tips and stuff, I really want to try some of the techniques I found there. Via that website I also discovered Lighstalking which is also very very good.
I browsed it for hours and saved my favourite tutorials, I hope I will actually try something. I also have plenty of photography journals but they mostly focus on post-editing with photoshop. meeh.. Boring. The websites are they more inspiring.
So my parents are coming this Friday, will be busy all week, going to London, Brighton and around the South Downs. Yay!

I had a good movie night yesterday (yay!). It is a really lovely French movie about a guy whose dreams, imagination and reality mix up. This film somewhat reminds me Inception but they are at different ends of the same continuum. The Science of Sleep is very warm film. I loved that they used old techniques for special effects, it must have taken ages to do it all but it looks amazing and so surreal. It reminds me old cartoons. The other thing I liked about it, is characters talk in Spanish, French and English and they go from one language to the other. Also, the main female character Stefanie is just so adorable. Her tiny flat is also very cosy and boho. Nice sets in general, I'd say! The only downside, I think the storyline was a bit underdeveloped. My overall verdict - definitely worth watching.

got some vegetarian jellies, yummy! I've missed it! most jellies are made from gelatine which is made from bones and skin of animals. Disgusting! Which reminds me.... I'm so fed up with people asking me why don't eat meat. I don't ask them why they are not eating human meat! To me, these questions are equally ridiculous. And yes, I judge people for dividing animals into pets and food! Utter non-sense! Also, I'm very very annoyed when people call themselves vegetarians when they clearly are not.
Even my parents pretend to be vegetarians, although they actually are pescatarians - they do not eat meat but they eat fish and seafood. And there are people who eat some kind of meat, but still say they are vegetarian. For some reason, it's mostly poultry, like chicken. Eat your effing meat, but don't call yourself a vegetarian!

And I'm sorry if I come across as angry, no, I'm not, I just feel very strongly about this issue.
