Hello my chums
Last few weeks were very busy, I've been out and about for work and it seems I had hardly any spare time. But my efforts have paid off.. A new position was created in my office, I new about it for quite a while, it feels like it dragged quite a bit but I can tell you know I got this job!! It's a step up for my position, a significant salary increase and, of course, responsibilities are much greater and I will be managing 6 people. It will be both exciting and challenging! I don't have managerial experience..however I do have management degree which is finally going to pay off and I will also get some further training. I actually have booked a course in January and will be looking into more courses. I think this is such a perfect opportunity for me and I need to make the most of it! This job will also mean more travel to London, I don't really mind! Might actually go to see a show and meet my cousins who live there.
Tomorrow we're having staff Christmas party at a Spanish restaurant so I will celebrate this tomorrow with my colleagues!

Friday night I had dinner with my girlies at Pablo's. It was a joint birthday dinner, we all have birthdays in December, there is also another friend with December birthday but she wasn't able to make it. To burn a few calories we took a walk around the harbour. It's beautiful at night, many people had Christmas decorations up already. Even though it was Friday night, it was incredibly quiet and for some reason sea looks sinister at night. Saturday and Sunday flew by incredibly fast and I am about to face my last week at work this year!
I still need to get a few presents before I go but most of them are taken care of. I'm looking forward to spending Christmas in Germany, it will be a nice change.

I've hardly been in the office this week, been travelling around a bit, I feel like I spent most of my days on a train travelling for meetings and training. I had to go to Milton Keynes, but the whole journey I couldn't see much through the window. It's been very foggy lately. I missed a very nice shot of Lewes in fog because I didn't have my camera on me and my phone is not so good (oh if only I had Lumia 1020). Luckily I had taken my camera with me the next day when I had to go to London for a meeting, though it was quite hard to take pictures through a window and it wasn't as foggy any more.
I had such a busy week and I'm behind with a few things, I need to do so much before the holidays but I don't have time! I haven't planned anything for my trip in Lisbon and not sure when I'll be able to do that! I'm off today but there are a few things I need to do for work (I'll tell you more about that next week), some social events to attend to and I really need to catch up with my sleep!

I have the tree up already but haven't finished decorating, I'm very much into nordic decorations, but I haven't found much of these kind of decorations on the high street. I might have to buy some online.
Here is some Christmas inspiration from Pinterest.

I met up with Marta yesterday, we went to Little Christmas in Little Chelsea. It was the same as last year, reindeer, lots of stalls with cupcakes and other food. There were so many people, it was hard to get through. Most of the shop in the South Street were open, including a bridal shop, so popped in and had a look at various dresses. Me and the shopkeeper convinced Marta to try on one of the dresses as it was in her size, she has only tried bigger sizes so this was a nice change. It fitted rather well, but some adjustments would be needed, but I doubt this is The Dress.
People outside the shop could see her through the window and they cheered and some man gave thumps up. This was the first shop to let us take pictures of the dress. Such a nice change! It will be easier to compare it with other dresses and make a decision.
We went to Italian restaurant to have dinner. I usually tend to eat the same dish at this restaurant. My work girlfriend as I like to call her nowadays, always bugging me to try something new, so I went for cannelloni spinach ricotta but I didn't enjoy it much. Though I think it was the way it was done rather than the dish itself, I would try the same dish in a different restaurant. For now though, I'll stick to tortellini aurora, sorry, Jess.

I noticed recently a few backlash against very fit women, namely Maria Kang and Caroline Berg Eriksen.
It's absolutely incredible that she canlook like this 4 days after giving birth, I find this rather inspiring. While everyone's genetics are different, keeping fit during pregnancy and after certainly helps, yet these ladies received so much hate messages and feel offended by these pictures. Some of the hate comments are both hilarious and sad at the same time:
WHO ARE YOU TO POST THIS IMAGE? What do you want to say with this picture? Who are you talking to? What is the good purpose here? Why is this positive?
Aabel said she works with teenage girls and is afraid of what message they will take from this picture.
I think these ladies are rightly proud about their body, they worked really hard to achieve this and I'm genuinely impressed by them. I've been browsing Caroline's blog and I'm loving it.
I recently started exercising again, I want to strengthen my back muscles and tone my stomach so this blog is really encouraging. She post lots of pictures of fashion, her house which is beautiful and understated and her travels and recipes. I'm adding her to my feedly!

I''m on pinterest, check my profile if you're (p)interested..
I'm still trying to figure out how add pin it button to my posts but none of the codes seems to work, most likely because I use dynamic template and I'm not prepared to switch to classic, oh well!

My skin is terrible, I'd been prescribed antibiotics, but they didn't help. I've been browsing r/skincareaddiction,the folks there know what they are talking about. I'm trying to set up a new skincare routine, bought loads of products that might work. I'd suggest to check it out, website might look a bit weird for those who're not redditors, but don't worry, you'll get used to it. I'm trying out cheater's oil cleansing method, I'm using Pond's cold cream, it seems to be less messy. It's too early to say if it's working.
I'm also keen to try Curly Girl Routine, I've seen some fantastic results on r/curlyhair. I think I will try to do this by slowly phasing out shampoo until it's not needed.

I haven't posted any pictures lately, I had a photoshoot planned but it will have to be rescheduled till who knows when. To be honest, it's winter, it's cold and I just want to stay home, under blanket, nice and warm!

I'm having a very lazy Sunday- which is a
rare occasion. We're having The Office (US) marathon. We've been watching it pretty much every day. Today we reached the episode where Michael leaves, it's going down the hill from there, isn't it?Anyway, I love it, it's hilarious. So many great characters, I couldn't tell which one is my favourite- there are too many.
Once we're done with this, we're watching the original British version, I've seen some episodes but not all. Afterwards I'll need to find another good show. I'm open to suggestions...

There are many reasons to be grumpy, but what annoys me most at the moment is the crowds in the shops. And it will only get worse. I haven't got any presents yet, hey I still got a month, but I will buy the most online to escape all the crowds, it's usually cheaper anyway. This year I need to get more presents than usual as I'm going to spend Christmas in Germany and there are so many relatives there, dear oh dear how I'm going to fit all the presents in my suitcase.

My very close friend is getting married very soon, so we went to a local bridal shop for a fitting. We have similar taste in clothing and we're good friends so I can feel like I can give her my honest opinion on the dresses.
I've never been to a bridal shop before and I wouldn't say that I particularly enjoyed my first visit. First of all, there was another future bride who brought pretty much the whole family there, so there wasn't much space especially as all the bridesmaids where trying on dresses too. Secondly, we weren't allowed to take pictures and they never leave the bride alone so you can't snap one secretly either. I find the whole experience of being in changing room with absolute stranger a bit bizarre. Thirdly, their selection of dresses was rather limited, one size in each style only and generally they all look so similar. I think I would really struggle to find a wedding dress for myself.
Anyway, my friend tried on around 6 dresses ( so like a fifth of their whole stock..) and 2 of them were strong candidates. Too be honest she'd look beautiful in any kind of dress, so really it's up for her to decide what kind of cut and style she prefers. We plan to go to some other bridal shops next week. It will be another challenge!

I also need to get a bridesmaid dress for myself, I'd like something simple and in pastel colour, something I could wear more than once and wouldn't be too bridesmaid'y.No satin for sure!
There'll be more wedding related in posts in the future, be warned!

We went to Ikea last week. I want to go there for ages, but it's quite far from where I live. I love Ikea, simple, minimalist Scandinavian style. I could easily spend my whole paycheck there, I didn't but boy do they have some nice things for very affordable prices. I bought Hemnes chest of drawers pictured above. It's simple yet stylish and it's huge, so much space in drawers. It's a lot bigger than you'd think based on this picture. It took us some time to set it up but it wasn't too difficult at all.
I wanted to get this Moppe mini chest of drawers for ages, I'm not sure yet how I am going to decorate it or ,that will be my next crafts project.
I also got this black/brown coffee table for £17.00. The price is just ridiculous. I know it's not particularly durable but I think it's pretty decent considering it's price.
I also got some bits and bobs for home, nothing particularly interesting.
There are some purchases I plan to make, but it might have to come out of the next paycheck.

SPOILERS ahead
Damn you Cumberbatch. Made me download iTunes (yeah, not an apple fan) to watch Little Favour.
It's a short crowd-funded film,Benedict plays quite a different role when usual, we're loving it, don't we? I love that even though he's such a big star now, he still involves in small projects.

Official description:
“Little Favour follows the story of WALLACE (Cumberbatch) when he is contacted by a former colleague to help him out with a deal gone wrong. It’s been 7 years since he left Her Majesty’s service and 10 years since the American counterpart who became his friend, saved his life on a joint mission in Iraq. He’s migrated his skill set into a lucrative business while managing to keep his secret battle with PTSD under wraps. One day, while finally deciding to try his hand at a functional relationship, his old friend JAMES cashes in his chip and asks a LITTLE FAVOUR. How could he refuse when he owes the man his life?”
I do believe you need to read synopsis first to understand it better or you might be a bit lost. There is a lot of violence, however it was There is little dialogue but I think it works very well. I think watching it for the first time and second time are quite different experience, there were so many clues that you wouldn't notice watching it the first time.
I love you, I know I thought this was deliberate but based on Patrick V Monroes' Q&A on twitter, it wasn't not but I wasn't the only one to notice this.
Russian was really bad, it always is, isn't it? Russian might be my third language, but boy I can tell you when it's bad., though they did pronounce suka correctly, I found the scene humorous for some reason.
Russian gangsters re one of my least favourite film cliches but I guess this was used to throw you off. Overall Little Favour still rather good and totally worth £2.00. I do think this will help Benedict land more action roles or maybe even James Bond role. Cumbercollective would love that.
Now lets address the elephant in the room, Cumberbatch was quite ripped for this role, not that anyone complains about this.I think this right after he played Khan in Start Trek: Into Darkness for which he trained every day. Not sure how he manages to do this, from buff to Sherlock physique- toned and lean.
Also, is it just me or did Benedict wear his own clothes? Especially that blue shirt.

My colleague and me were invited to a youth fair organised by the local council, we worked at reception and I was also asked to take pictures too. Good, another opportunity to practice. I was worried about lighting. It was held in an old theatre and it was much worse than I expected. The lights were so dim,not sure if they were aiming for romantic mood or just saving money? I don't have fast enough lens for this, oh well, I had a few decent shots, but so many potentially good photos have come out either blurry or too much noise in the picture. They had a few dance groups and also music groups, lets just say some were better than others. Anyway, the day was quite fun, any day out of the office is a good day!

I've got a special treat for you this week.
Not sure if this is widely known, but before his comedian days, Ricky Gervais was in a New Wave group, well duo, called Seona Dancing.

So apparently, a storm is coming our way, it should hit our coast Sunday night- Monday morning. Winds up to 80 mph. I'm ready, are you?
Update: well, it seems the storm skipped my town, I haven't seen any damage, a few branches on a pavement, that's all.

I'm one of those people who tend to listen to the same music over and over again.. I've been struggling to find new music that I like. I always come back to square one. But sometimes magic happens and I find something brilliant. Well, more often than not, it's been recommended to me. King Krule is my latest "discovery".

While I'm brunettebatch fan, his platinum white hair really grows on you and I actually rather like it now. Cumberbatch aside, the film is not as good as I wished it was. At first it tried to raise a question whether Julian Assange is a hero or a terrorist but in the end it came out rather one sided and the decision was made for you. They tried to save it by adding the bit where Benedict as Julian pretends to give his view on the film but it was too little too late. The whole film ended as if Wikileaks kind of ended in 2010, but that's simply not true .Wikileaks has published a list of inaccuracies in the film, you can read it here. While I do understand why Julian asked Benedict not to be in this film, I did enjoy watching this film, mainly because of the talented Mr Cumberbatch but also I took this film as a loose dramatization of real events and people rather than an accurate depiction. If you want the truth, you should seek it out for yourself

I spent my day at my friend's. We had fondue, it seemed quite fitting with this cold and rainy weather. She has a lovely fireplace so I spent most of the time next to it as I was quite cold. She baked a cake and it was rather nice, cream a bit too runny, but it didn't ruin the taste and it looked very nice.
We spent the afternoon chatting about upcoming wedding of my friend, so many things to do! We looked at some wedding dresses and next week we might go to a bridal shop to try on some dresses, to find a style she likes. I think it will be quite fun and she'll make a very beautiful bride.

Yesterday was a good day. Just my favourite actor ever doing an AMA (ask me anything) on my favourite website- reddit. Although he didn't answer any of my questions, not that I hoped it he would, within few seconds of his post, there were 200 questions. It was just a drop in the sea. Anyway, his answers were rather funny and oh quite cheeky. Here are some of my favourites
R: Is it hard to keep the secret of how Sherlock survived? Do you ever have the urge to tell someone? If so, how do you cope?
BC: I cry myself to sleep at night. And then wake up laughing.
I actually thought he was gone because for like 15 minutes, he didn't answer anything but when he submitted a rather lengthy answer to one of the more serious questions:
R: Julian Assange’s open letter to you criticizing The Fifth Estate is very intense. He even goes so far as to call you a “hired gun” for distorting the truth (or at least what he views as his truth). Did this affect the way you portrayed him or even make you second guess your role at all in this film?
BC: Yes, of course it did. To have the man you are about to portray ask you intelligently and politely not to do it gave me real cause for concern, however, it galvanized me into addressing why I was doing this movie. He accuses me of being a “hired gun” as if I am an easily bought cypher for right wing propaganda. Not only do I NOT operate in a moral vacuum but this was not a pay day for me at all. I’ve worked far less hard for more financial reward. This project was important to me because of the integrity I wanted to bring to provocative difficult but ultimately timely and a truly important figure of our modern times. The idea of making a movie about someone who so far removed from my likeness or situation who brought about an ideal through personal sacrifice that has changed the way we view both social media, the power of the individual to have a voice in that space, and be able to question both the hypocrisies and wrongdoings of organizations and bodies of powerful people that rule our lives… This resonated deeply with my beliefs in civil liberty, a healthy democracy, and the human rights of both communities and individuals to question those in authority. I believe that the film, quite clearly, illuminates the great successes of wikileaks and its extraordinary founder Julian Assange. As well as, examining the personalities involved and what become a dysfunctional relationship within that organization. While the legacy of his actions and the organizations continue to evolve and only history will be the true judge of where this is leading us. The Fifth Estate is a powerful, if dramatized, entry point for a discussion about this extraordinary lurch forward in our society. I wanted to create a three dimensional portrait of a man far more maligned in the tabloid press than he is in our film to remind people that he is not just the weird, white haired Australian dude wanted in Sweden, hiding in an embassy behind Harrods. But a true force to be reckoned with, achieved the realization of the great ideal. I’m proud to be involved in tackling such a contentious character and script. There is only personal truth in my opinion, and the film should provoke debate and not consensus. It should be enjoyable and ultimately empowering to realize that Julian has spearheaded a movement that is the foundations stone of The Fifth Estate, people journalism and what that is capable of including finding out the “truth” for yourself.
R: And this is the proof against a Benedict Twitter account ^^^
BC: Julian complex important proud to have attempted an interpretation. Film out Oct. 18 #FifthEstate. How’s that?
When I read the following answer, I was very amused, so cheeky!
Redditor: Do you, Matt Smith, and Tom Hiddleton have cheek bone polishing parties?
Benedict Cumberbatch: We like nothing better than buffing our Zygoma. And imagining a horny time traveling long overcoat purple scarf wearing super sleuth nordic legend f**k fantasy. Get to work on that, internet.
Rule 34.
He's challenged us, internet will make this happen. I certainly hope so.
Someone also replied to this, you're dead to me Benedict. I laughed so hard.
And this happened. He might have broken the internet.
Yep, there is that.
And this is his verification photo.
Anyway, it wasn't the end of CumberFriday, he also appeared on Graham Norton Show, obviously this was a recording, not a live show, yet he managed to be late to that one and he only appeared maybe in the middle part of the show. But it was totally worth it, he stole the show, as usual. Jack Whitehall was pretty funny too, he kinda saved the first part of the show when it was just him and Harrison Ford.
18th October is the next date on our cumbercalendar. I cannot wait.

I'm not having a great week, tough times at work, lots of things happening, not a very good atmosphere at all. I try to cheer myself by thinking about upcoming holiday season. It will be quite special this year. i will spend Christmas in Germany with my family. It's maybe 5 years since I spent Christmas with them, so it's about time! My little cousin is already preparing presents for me (drawings), am I allowed to have a favourite? When I'm there she hardly leaves my side, as you can see in the picture above.
I'll spend my birthday and meet New Years in...Lisbon!! yeah baby. I'm going to Portugal. I really want to have a good birthday, it always sucks, everyone with December birthday knows how it sucks sucks sucks. Well maybe less so for those who live in Southern hemisphere, at least you can have a birthday party on the beach, hey? Anyway, I think this birthday will be a lot more fun. So it will 5 holidays abroad I had this year,OK 3 of them will have been in Germany, but still. It costs a lot of money, but I'd rather spend money on holidays than on anything else. Travelling is my thing.

I spent my Saturday in Lewes with Marta. I've never been there before even though it's very close to where I live and have passed it many times. Town centre was lively and buzzing. There was a market full of fresh produce, there were many charming shops and cafes. From most of the town, you can see South Downs.
And yeah, there is a castle too
We went to this charming place, Riverside Brasserie, as you guessed it was right next to a river. It's very cosy and had lovely old fashioned windows. As we weren't particularly hungry,so we just had cream tea. It was absolutely beautiful. For those readers who are not from UK or commonwealth countries, cream tea is is tea taken with a combination of scones, clotted cream, and jam. Oh I love clotted cream, though it's not very good for you, but it tastes so good on scones. Also, clotted cream ice cream is quite something too!
We walked this beautiful lane which, to our disappointment, led to ordinary street.
I discovered paperchase shop, we don't have one locally. So many beautiful things, I spent just under £20 pounds there, they're not cheap.
One of the things I've got a set of snack boxes, similar to the one pictured above, but with cupcake design. Loving it...
This morning we went to a boot fair before they closed down till April. It was big as usual but I didn't buy anything at all, nothing caught my eye and I think the market is not as good as it's used to be. After this, we went to Hailsham to grab a cup of tea. However... the town was deserted, most of the shops were closed and the only coffee shop open was Nero, eventually we found a small cafe. It was not particularly nice but we gave on hope to find something else. The menu was boring, ie, they didn't have any paninis, so we got cream tea again. It was not as enjoyable, first cups must have been relics of 80s, something you'd maybe find in somebody's home but definitely not suitable for a cafe. Tea was served with those small milk pots, yuck. Scones were stale and tiny, jam was also in one of those little packs. It didn't look appealing and it didn't taste nice. Oh well, lesson learned, never going there again.
