I met up with Marta today to make a few test shots with her future husband. They're so cute together! She's very comfortable in front of the camera and it's easy to work with her. Her SO on the other hand has never done anything like that but he did well. We didn't spend much time on this but we got quite a few good shots. I am looking forward to their wedding, they seem to be so happy together.

I am not sure if I have told you, but I predicted my friend's upcoming wedding very early in their relationship. I actually bet her that she'll get engaged in a year's time and I won it just with a few days to spare.
I also teased her this picture last year- it's me and our mutual friend with dresses we were supposedly getting for her wedding! Yes, we invited ourselves to her wedding before she actually got engaged hah. Funnily enough, I actually got the dress in the same shop and it's probably exactly the same fitting room I tired on the dress I actually got for her wedding.

I bought this dress! It is not exactly what I would have liked, but I'm quite desperate and pressed for time! It actually looks quite nice when you put it on and it's quite a good length, I usually find these dresses a tad too short for my liking.
Now I only need to find matching shoes, purse and possibly a shawl or a blazer in case it gets cold.

I was in Brighton today with my friends. We were hunting for dresses, I bought one but I'm not sure yet if I will wear it at the upcoming wedding but it's an option.

We had Easter lunch at my SO's parents'. We had cold beet soup, which is while traditional soup, it's not something you usually eat at Easter, but I enjoyed it, it's one of my favourites. I might be 25, but I got lots of chocolate for Easter both from my parents and my SO's parents. Our table is now covered with all of kinds of Easter Chocolate. It will take a while for us to finish it all.

Happy Easter!
Picture above are marguciai, Easter eggs made by my grandmother. These are not chicken eggs, it's quail eggs, they look beautiful. My grandmother is a folk artist, besides Easter eggs, she also makes verbos.

When I was back home last week, I went through some of old stuff from my childhood and teenage years. I found a small notebook my mum made notes about me when I was little. Apparently I really liked bunnies. I have no recollection of that, though I do remember some of my stuffed toys were bunnies.
Loosely translated from above and previous page that's not pictured:
Her favourite toy is Bunny. It's not just a toy but Bunny is a huge authority figure for her. It often brings her presents and once even a Christmas Tree. When the doorbell rang, Akvile asked who is it and the answer came "Christmas tree". She opened the door to see a Christmas tree that the bunny left for her and then went back to the forest. When she was 4, we were in the forest to get some wood. Akvile brought her grey and yellow bunnies with her but they ran away. She was looking for them, shouting: "bunnies, where are you". She eventually found them hiding behind a tree. She was overjoyed when she found them.
I swear it sounds much cuter in Lithuanian.
I guess my parents were con artists at the time and fooled me in believing in bunnies.

I remember reading this book, possibly a more recent print, but it the pictures look the same.
I don't remember when I realised it's all just tales. Would I do the same for my children if I ever have any? Probably. What's childhood without a bit of magic.

Hello there.
I've been quite ill this week, I caught flu. I feel a bit better today (no fever, yoohoo!) but I'm still far from my usual self. I still haven't regained my appetite so I've been only eating fruits and drinking lots of tea with honey. I lost weight because of this, there is no diet like flu diet!.. Most of it will come back and it better come back soon because my skinny jeans look a bit loose now and that's not a great look.
My plans for this long weekend have been ruined, I had to cancel my trip to Brighton tomorrow which I was looking forward to. Not happy! This mean I have even less time to find a dress so I'm looking online again. Can anyone recommend some good websites?...

Greetings from Bristol. I'm staying here for two days for work. I know Bristol is a beautiful city but I'm not going anywhere as I'm not feeling particularly well, the cold& flu capsules I took has kicked in so I feel slightly better but really not in the mood to do any sightseeing.
I hope you notice my new blog template. I'm still working on it as I keep noticing small issues so bear with me!.. I might even learn html in the process.
I'm looking forward to the long weekend (woohoo!) , I hope to meet a friend I haven't seen for ages and eat loads of food on Easter Sunday. That's about it. I might go shopping as I really need to find a dress for the wedding I'm attending in 3 weeks. Yes, I probably should do that...

Continuing from my last post.
We stayed at my old flat, well my parents' flat.
This is the view from the balcony, I miss having a balcony. The chill air and the quietness of the evening is so relaxing. There were hardly any people, it wasn't that late and this is main street.
Another selfie. If I had my tripod with me, I could have made some great shots.
This is a picture of my great-grandfather. Such a handsome man he was.
Time flew by and we had to take a train back to Kaunas to catch our flight. We did say we should come every year, hopefully we will. It was lovely to visit but we know for sure we're never moving back.It doesn't mean we'll stay in UK either. I do have dreams but I'm not sure they're realistic. One can dream though.

I'm back in UK!.. It's so nice to be home, sleep in my own bed and have internet connection!
A selfie taken at grandmother's
It's been 18 months since my last proper visit to Lithuania. Not much has changed in my hometown, but it seems sleepier than ever. I couldn't live there again, I'd get bored very quickly. It was a bit colder than in UK, spring hasn't really come there either, so I didn't take pictures of town, everything looks so grey with streets lined up with leave-less trees. But it will be lovely very soon. Next time we'll go in summer, we decided.
We flew to Kaunas airport, as it was they past the last coach to my hometown, we stayed at My SO's uncle's. It was very pleasant stay, the family was very lovely and we enjoyed our time there. Next morning we took a coach to the west of the country. I was surprised it had wifi, I loved it, when I was tired of browsing internet I turned on nokia mix radio and napped all the way to my hometown.
I visited my grandmothers and also my SO's grandparents. We were fed so much food, first few days my stomach could hardly handle the amount of food. I had cepelinai, saltibarciai, sakotis and other foods. I also had a pizza at a local restaurant, it's my favourite- the dough is very thin and it tastes so nice with the special mayo based sauce they make themselves (we Lithuanians usually eat pizza with ketchup and that sauce of no name, I know weirdos, but it's delicious...).
My maternal grandmother lives in a village 20km a way, so I took a bus everyday to spend some time with her. She's moving to Germany, as mentioned in my previous post. I helped to sort some paperwork and had lovely chats with her and her sister who was also visiting.
I found this old picture of my grandparents, my auntie on the right and I'm not sure who is the child on my grandmother's lap and I do not recognise the place.
My grandmother has a cat pictured above. She's called love but she looks evil to me.
This is getting long so I will continue in my next post.

I don't like posts without pictures, so I'm using an old one. This was taken around 6 years ago. My hair has always been unruly.
I've packed my bag and I'm very much looking forward to our trip. It's nice to to have some time off and get away from the daily routine. It will probably the last time I will visit my grandparent's place as my grandmother now is moving to Germany where most of my family lives. While the the place will stay within the family, unfortunately it's doubtful I will be able to visit it again.
We're leaving tomorrow,so I'm afraid no updates until I'm back! I will probably fall behind with my project 52, but hopefully I will catch up when I'm back.

3 days to go till I'm off! I'm getting excited!.. I'm flying to Lithuania Sunday afternoon. Before I go I need to buy a new cabin bag as my current one is too big for Ryanair. I need to buy presents for my grandmothers and that's about it. I don't have many plans, I will visit my grandmothers and my SO will visit his. I want to take lots of pictures and explore my hometown, to see what has changed.
I won't have any access to internet, so I won't be able to update the blog till I'm back but bear with me.
