Scattered Strawberry Summer

I'm in London again. I'm here for two day leadership training. I'm staying at a hotel, though I wish I just went home, even though it would mean I'd be home late and I'd need to get up very early to go back to London.

I went to Oxford Street but I have now decided I don't actually like shopping, I just like getting new things. Shopping is tiring, time consuming and seriously couldn't find anything I'd really like. If somebody could presort everything for me with things I might like, that would be great. I guess that's one of the reasons I tend to buy a lot of things online, so much easier to find anything.

My skin is terrible, I'd been prescribed antibiotics, but they didn't help. I've been browsing r/skincareaddiction,the folks there know what they are talking about. I'm trying to set up a new skincare routine, bought loads of products that might work. I'd suggest to check it out, website might look a bit weird for those who're not redditors, but don't worry, you'll get used to it. I'm trying out cheater's oil cleansing method, I'm using Pond's cold cream, it seems to be less messy. It's too early to say if it's working.

I'm also keen to try  Curly Girl Routine, I've seen some fantastic results on r/curlyhair. I think I will try to do this by slowly phasing out shampoo until it's not needed.

   I spent my day at my friend's. We had fondue, it seemed quite fitting with this cold and rainy weather.  She has a lovely fireplace so I spent most of the time next to it as I was quite cold. She baked a cake and it was rather nice, cream a bit too runny, but it didn't ruin the taste and it looked very nice.

We spent the afternoon chatting about upcoming wedding of my friend, so many things to do! We looked at some wedding dresses and next week we might go to a bridal shop to try on some dresses, to find a style she likes.  I think it will be quite fun and she'll make a very beautiful bride.

   It's bank holiday Monday and the weather was rather decent - how unusual!
   OK it was cloudy, but it was hot enough to wear shorts,so good enough for me.

I also went to town get the last few bits for my trip to Germany and I got myself a book to read during the flight. I have seen the show that was based on it and I loved it. It was only 2 quid at The Works

The other day I was invited to my friend's parents' 40th wedding anniversary (her parents are much older than mine who celebrated their 26th this year).  It was good opportunity to experience  a truly British tea party hanging out with posh people.  I'm not used to social mingling, especially when some  people  that I met, were very rich and seem to live in a very different world from us ordinary people.

I may be back from Mallorca, but I haven't got back to work yet, I have a full week off which I spent at home. It was nice to be able to do nothing much, I haven't had time for ages.  I started reading True Blood book series by C.Harris,  I have read 5 so far. Although the books are quite entertaining I do prefer the series. I think they handle the stories better, that's just my opinion.

On Sunday I'm going to a community event my company is holding and I'll be taking pictures. I'm surprised I've been offered to do it but I'm sure it will be a good experience. So I only have one day to learn how to take decent pictures, yikes!

Monday is the day I come back to work and I'm already dreading, I know from my colleague that it's terribly busy and quite stressful, not the best time to come back.

I already miss Alcudia, well the beach really. Such a relaxation when you can go to the beach to enjoy the sun and warm sea right after your breakfast and you don't have children.
