I started my birthday celebrations a few days early. I had a family lunch and home made cake at my parents'. After a Christmas food marathon it was not easy on my stomach but on the other hand, that's the only time I get to so much of my favourite Lithuanian food cooked by my mum & dad.
With Christmas tree and all the decorations and me wearing my Christmas sweater it did feel like a Birthmas.
I spent my real birthday back at home in UK. Let me tell you..it was a very special birthday as the most unexpected present I received this year was the one I got from my boyfriend.
After over 8 years dating, 5 of which we lived together, my boyfriend proposed. We might have been together for a very long time but I just didn't expect it yet so I was rather shocked at first! It really made my day my year and I'm super excited! I love the ring, it's not your typical engagement ring and I love that.
We're not rushing anywhere though and we are not planning to get married this year but boy I'm excited and will be spending many hours on pinterest!

It's been ages, I know!
I didn't do anything particularly interesting during the week, it was lovely weather but I was working every day and didn't get to enjoy it. Friday was particularly hot and I woke up on Saturday to the sound of rain. Typical!!!.. My plans to go to Vines Cross to do a photoshoot fell through, but we met up for lunch instead. We went to our usual Italian restaurant, Mo Mambo Mania. After a rather big lunch we fancied something sweet, so we went to Neate's Cakery, which is just across the street from Mo Mambo. We had our usual Victoria sponge cake. It might not be obvious, but that was a big piece of cake. I was struggling to finish it, too much after a heavy lunch!

Next week- nothing big planned, but I'm going to my friend's for a meal and I'll be spending my Sunday taking pictures for work at a local event they're organising. Woop woop, I might get my picture published in a local paper again.

Yum. This is a cake I got for my boyfriend's birthday. Obviously, I didn't do it myself, I bought it from Patisserie Valerie. Yes, their cakes are expensive, but they taste and look amazing. In UK, compared to my home country) have a very poor selection of cakes available to buy. In the supermarket, you can only get what I call "plastic cakes", loads of icing, dry and tasteless. Well, you should cakes in Lithuanian supermarkets... You'd be spoiled for choice. Of course, they do not look as impressive as cakes at Patisserie Valerie, however they're equally tasty and relatively cheap. I would fly home just for cakes and beaches on Curonian Spit. If only easyjet would fly to Lithuania...
